Social Media Strategy
What is your social media strategy? If your answer is "Facebook" then you could use my help. Applications like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr, StumbleUpon, YouTube, etc. are not strategy but rather tools that are there to utilize your strategy once developed. They are, in fact, the last component added to any strategy.
I walk clients through easy to follow steps that will help to insure that your social media efforts are not wasted. Together, we will develop a strategic plan for your social media campaign that will prevent you from shooting blanks in the dark, wasting valuable time and resources.
Before we can determine the right tools for your business to utilize we must first:
1. Determine What are you trying to accomplish?
Are you looking to generate more leads, more sales, create greater brand awareness, bolster conversions, or brand engagement? Understanding what you're trying to actually do with your social media efforts is the first step in developing your social media strategy.
2. Determine the keywords and keyword phrases that real people might be using online to talk about your topic. This list should be as broad as possible. It will be used to fine tune your efforts, do real keyword analysis and eventually lead to content and subject ideas down the road.
3. What's your pitch?
Write down your pitch. Keep it short, sweet and to the point. Try to get it to under 140 characters.
4. What type of program is this?
Awareness - Sales - Loyalty - Other - PICK ONE
5. Current Relationship
What does the audience know about you?
6. What's your One Thing?
Social media is all about sharing your passion. Find your 'one thing' and build around it.
7. Pick your Target.
Who is it - exactly - that you need to reach? Define them.
8. Identify Success
Know what success looks like before you start
9. Determine what Success looks like to you: Write this down - put this in your own words, OWN IT.
This is where we start. Once we understand the WHAT of it - What we want to accomplish, What our key phrases are, What success looks like, What type of program, What's the pitch, etc - we can then look at the how, when and who.
And remember: The most successful social media campaigns are always based on creating a humanized approach to building trust to influence how your company, products, services and/or employees are perceived to past, current and future customers.
All the above doesn't have to be a daunting undertaking. In this 6-month contract, I will walk you through the process of developing a social media strategy step-by-step and leave you with the confidence that your efforts will be successful.
